GEOGRAPHICAL SKIN //

In collaboration with musician Su Shaw

Premiere at Hidden Door Festival, Edinburg, 2018

“What distinguishes the map is that it is entirely oriented towards an experimentation in contact with the real... The map has to do with performance”

(Deleuze&Guattari 1987)

The piece Geographical Skin functions as a territory of encounter for Eve Ganneau and Su Shaw artistic practice. It is a singular journey through space and time. Looking at the metaphorical potential of cartography, the performance is a canvas where the performers explore their relationship to the present through movement and sound. They become porous to the specificity of each location to produce a dialogue with their environment, creating a choreo-cartography of the individual and collective territories. The map becomes a breathing and living object that allows us to reflect upon change, transformation and becoming.
